FOR THE BALOCHISTAN EARTHQUAKE

AFFECTEES!!

An earthquake of 6.4 magnitude hit Balochistan- a province of Pakistan on a cold morning of 29^th October 2008. This earthquake left thousands of people in miseries…. Hundreds of people died in this natural catastrophe and thousands are left homeless in an intense cold weather. The homeless people are in great need of the basic necessities of life. Their houses are totally destroyed, and they are living without shelters in immense cold nights of November. Human Appeal International- Pak has always been providing the relief activities through its endless efforts for the sustainable development of the affectees of the natural disasters. In the destructive earthquake of 2005 in Kashmir, HAI- Pak worked day & night to relieve the sufferings of the poor people. In the initial activities after the Earthquake HAI provided tents, food items, & warm clothes to the suffering people. And after that HAI felt the severe need of Shelters which have to be provided to the sufferers. HAI established Shelter Housing Units in different districts of Kashmir including Bagh, Mansehra, & Muzaffarabad. HAI provided food packages to the suffering people to make the people able to live their lives with their loved ones.

HAI has always been working for the sustainable development of the underprivileged communities deprived of social injustice, education & health. HAI has been installing many medical camps in Kashmir for providing health facilities to the destitute people.

In this destructive earthquake of Balochistan, HAI team from Islamabad Country Office reached Quetta to provide further assistance to the earthquake affectees. The team provided tents, blankets & food parcels etc to the suffering people. The main destructive areas are Ziarat & Pishin, where the HAI team is already assessing the needs of the suffering people.

The relief programme will definitely have a positive impact on the uplift of the beneficiaries. It will make them able to stand once again on their own.
